Leatt
In 2001, a neurosurgery specialist, Dr. Chris Leatt was there when a fellow rider, Alan Selby, died of a neck injury, the same time Chris's son started riding. It was the tragic event and a motivation not to witness anything like that ever again that drove Dr. Leatt design his first neck brace prototype, utilizing his medical expertise and riding experience.
Leatt Lab, founded in 2008 in Cape Town, South Africa, is a state-of-the-art research and testing facility that allows Dr. Leatt and his team of biomedical engineers to design and constantly innovate the Leatt Neck Brace and other protective gear Leatt company offers. Leatt is a sign of commitment, passion and dedication to its purpose.
