We are excited to announce a new limited edition bike form Colnago – The C59 80 t t a n t a.
Ernesto Colnago celebrates his eightieth birthday and what better present could he give the cycling world than a special limited edition bike that carries the first Colnago logo that was created in the fifties.
The special bike is called the C59 80 t t a n t a. It’s a bike that is inspired by the past and has a seventies style Arabesque decoration, yet projected into the future because of the Italian technology in its ‘made to measure’ carbon fibre frame and its electronic Campagnolo Super Record EPS 11 speed groupset.
Just 80 examples worldwide of this very special limited edition bike will be made.
Available to order now RRP AUS$16,999. Contact the store if you’re interested!
Some good news for riders south of Sydney has just hit the news desk!
Sutherland Shire is to have Sydney’s first dedicated offroad BMX bike park with the council giving the green light last night for the course to be built next to the Ridge Sports Complex. It’s going to include some Dirt Jumps and a short MTB track which will hopefully one-day link into a brand-new trail network opposite ANSTO.
$180,000 has been earmarked for the project!
A BMX track may be being constructed in Gannons Park, Peakhurst. We haven’t received much info on this yet but it would be great news after Hurstville Council’s utter failure with the Depot Rd jumps.
Info about the track here: http://www.hurstville.nsw.gov.au/IgnitionSuite/uploads/docs/Document%202%20-%20Gannons%20Park%20Masterplan.pdf
We’ll keep you posted!
For their MTB Cruise 100 endurance race on 25 February 2012, the Rocky Trail crew have mapped out the longest loop possible at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra to include, as they say, “everything a mountain biker’s heart could wish for”.
Imagine racing every possible track combination at Stromlo – this is a race that gets you to ride the whole goodness of the Stromlo tracks!
Says Martin from Rocky Trail, “We love riding at Stromlo ourselves, so we tried to link as many trails as possible for a 33 km loop.”
First, you will climb up to the top via Bluegum and then it’s the sweeping descents of Skyline and Luge that will keep your heart rate up, followed by tight switchback climbs, fast downhills, some sections to recover at Willow’s Link and look out for that Party Line!
The distance challenges start at cruisy 1 or 2 laps and dare racers to do 3 laps for the full 100km distance. For the 100 miler challenge, racers will kick off their 5 laps at 5am with a rewarding dawn loop, finishing with the crowds in the afternoon.
There will be mass starts for the individual categories throughout the morning of race day and after each lap the times will be recorded at the event centre, which will be pumping with music in the signature Rocky Trail race atmosphere. This race promises to satisfy hardcore endurance racers as well as any mountain biker who loves a good, long ride.
